About me
My name is Gabrielle Sorgenfrei and I consider myself a self-proclaimed roadkill connoisseur. I enjoy foraging, hunting, wildcrafting, and writing. My obsession with harvesting roadkill deer started when a car in front of me hit a young buck. Not wanting the animal to go to waste, I brought him home. After obtaining fifty pounds of delicious meat, I realized that I had found a sustainable yet inexpensive way to obtain food.
As the years went on, picking up roadkill deer became a hobby. My friends were intrigued about my new interest, and joined me for roadkill drives. They enjoyed the free meat, as well as the learning experience.
I started out teaching small groups how to salvage roadkill. It soon became clear that many people wanted to harvest car-killed deer, but didn’t know where to start. When I released a zine on how to salvage roadkill deer, it was quickly sold out.
I decided to focus the rest of my energy into writing a book on how to salvage roadkill deer. The book will be complete with detailed descriptions and photographs, ensuring the reader is confident enough to utilize a roadkill deer. I anticipate it being released some time next year.
